Installation Overview

The below outlines the necessary Gimmal Link Enterprise installation tasks: 

  1. Install Enterprise Connector
  2. Configure S3 Credentials/Connection
  3. Install SAP transports (mandatory ECM, optional Content Server)
  4. Create SAP SAP system account with appropriate authorizations (mandatory ECM)
  5. Configure SAP RFC destinations and Gateway (ECM only)
  6. Configure SAP Gateway - ECM Only
  7. Base SAP ArchiveLink Configuration
  8. Base SAP Link Enterprise Configuration
  9. Base Enterprise Connector Configuration - SAP / ECM / Content Server / RFC Destination
  10. Milestone: Establish SAP <-> Enterprise Connector <-> SharePoint Connectivity
  11. Determine Viewing Strategy (located in Solution Guide)

Optional follow up steps (not required to achieve base the connectivity milestone) and notes include:

  1. Follow Up Basis Tasks
  2. Follow Up Security Tasks
  3. Follow Up Middleware Team Tasks
  4. Follow up S3 Team Tasks

For additional integration patterns (i.e.: document storage, inbound processing, metadata transfer, etc.…) this functional configuration is NOT included in this guide - refer to the Solution Guide.

Such activity includes:

  1. Configure SAP ArchiveLink document type and link tables
  2. Configure S3 collections, sites, libraries, and content types
  3. Configure Link Enterprise document storage, linking, migration, metadata transfer, etc.
  4. Customize or extend SCRUD functionality (ECM only)
