# Link Enterprise 6.x.x Installation Instructions

## Obtain the Latest Installer

Download the latest Link-Enterprise-6.x.x-release.zip from a Gimmal representative.

## Extract the Installation Files

Extract the contents of Link-Enterprise-6.x.x-release.zip into your desired installation folder (e.g., C:\LinkEnterprise).

## Run the Installation Script

1. Navigate to the service folder inside the extracted directory and execute the installation script with administrative privileges:
 - **Open a Command Prompt** with administrative permissions.
 - Navigate to the service folder. For example:
 - Run the installation script: installservice.bat
2. This will configure and install Link Enterprise 6.x.x on your system.

## Adjust Windows Service Log On Properties

If folder permissions on the server restrict processing:

- Adjust the **Log On** properties of the Gimmal Link Enterprise Windows services.
- Use the **service account** mentioned in the installation requirements.

## Extract SAP JCO

1. **Download SAP JCO:**
 - Obtain the appropriate SAP JCO 64-bit version from SAP’s marketplace (provided by your SAP Basis team).

2. **Place the Extracted Files:**
 - Extract the contents into the jco folder under lib.
 - For Windows installations, ensure sapjco3.dll is also placed in the jco folder.
 - **Note:** If SAP JCO comes as two compressed files, ensure all levels are extracted. The correct files should include sapjco3.jar in the top-level jco folder under lib.

## Obtain Authorization Token

1. Request a **Gimmal Link Enterprise authorization token** from a Gimmal representative.
2. Use this token during the Gimmal Link Enterprise Connector configuration:
 - Enter the token in the **active configuration .ini file** under the field authentication.token.
 - Alternatively, use the GUI navigating to Settings at [https://localhost:82](https://localhost:82).

⚠️ The service will shut down within 30 seconds if no active token is present, so using the .ini file method is recommended for reliability.

For further details, refer to **Base Gimmal Link Enterprise Connector Configuration – Gimmal Link Enterprise ECM Only**.
